HERE I GO AGAIN

I was watching one of the new talk shows that just aired this fall.   There was a story on it that caught my attention ( which is what they planned in the beginning I am sure).   It was about a 6 year old girl who was arrested for kicking another student.   Apparently the little girl has a health issue that can cause this behavior.  I do think arresting a 6 year old is a bit extreme, BUT maybe just maybe letting children see at a young age their actions have consequences may not be such a bad think. I do however think the parent should have been notified and allowed to talk to the child BEFORE any arrest was made.
It did not take long to figure out why this story was the lead story.  It was because they wanted to make it a race story.   The host straight up asked the grandmother if she thought this would have happened if the child had been white.  NOW HERE IS THE INTERESTING PART:  The child as the host described her was (brown ) and the officer that arrested her was a person of color himself, sooooooooooo where the hell does the host feel justified in trying to make this about race and asking if the grand mother had the child have been white if she thought she would have been arrested.  I also found it interesting that they DID NOT bring the child that was kicked or their parents on the show to see how much pain was inflicted or if they thought the punishment fit the crime.   Make not mistake about it kicking someone IS A CRIME if an adult kicked another adult they could have been arrested.   I feel part of the reason there is so much Juveniles committing crimes is because EVERYONE knows they will not get much punishment for it.
The officer that took her in was suspended and everyone cheered.  What's up with that?  The man was doing his job.   Was it a little harsh to hand cuff her? MAYBE, but like the grandma said the child has a condition that will cause her to be violent, so did it ever occur  to anyone that maybe the officer cuffed her to make sure she did not act out while being transported?   I know a girl that lost it one time when she was a child and it took 7 police officers to restrain her and get her into the car.   Speaking as someone who has in fact been mad enough I lost it and was violent.  When someone is in that state of mind they are stronger then you would think, and if one is reallllllllly having an episode like that they do not know what they are doing till it passes.
Back to my original point:  IF THIS HAD IN FACT HAPPENED TO A WHITE CHILD WOULD IT HAVE BEEN THE OPENING STORY ON THIS SHOW?   I think not. Why not you may wonder. That is easy white people being mistreated does not grab the big ratings.  I REALLY WISH PEOPLE WOULD WISE UP AND REALIZE THE MEDIA ARE TRYING TO PLAY US ALL FOR IDIOTS.   The stir up racial issues where there are none like in this case.   I have said it before and I will say it again.  THE REASON THERE IS SO MUCH FIGHTING AMONG PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT COLORS IS NOT BECAUSE THERE IS THAT MUCH RACISM IT IS BECAUSE THE MEDIA ARE BLOWING ANYTHING THEY CAN FIND UP OUT OF PROPORTION TO GET RATINGS.  Until people start seeing it for what it is they will keep doing it and things will not get better.

SOMETIMES CHANGE IS STRUID

Ok have you all noticed this thing the government does where it moves long established holidays off of their traditional  days?
I just heard now they want to move Halloween.   At the rate things are going soon Christmas and new years day will be the only holidays that are still observed on the original date they were created.   It makes me wonder what ever happened to tradition?
I remember going to the cemetery to put flowers on my sister's grave on what mom called decoration.  Yes memorial day used to be called decoration.  I am thinking it may have been because you would decorate the graves of loved ones on that date.    And why was it changed?? The answer is so people could have a long weekend off from work by moving it to a Monday.   When I was a kid mom said it always frosts on memorial day so we never planted before memorial day, but I digress.
Anyone who knows anything about Halloween will know it started may years ago.   Story says it was the feast of
Samhain it was set for the night before all saints day.  The thinking behind the though to move it to a Saturday is that it will be safer for the children trick or treating, and there may be some truth in that.   On a Saturday it could be set earlier in the day and it would not be as dark out, but is the dark not part of the fun of Halloween?   Would it not be easier for the communities to set the trick or treating for a Saturday if many people want this rather then moving the whole holiday?  I just wonder what will be the next holiday to be moved Christmas itself ?   I think it is stupid and pointless to move a holiday once it has been set on a date.
Here is a for instance  for you what if someone tried to change your birthday?  They moved the date Washington was observed it is no longer on his birthday and Lincoln's birthday has been washed away. Now they call it presidents day and it is on a Monday so people can have longer weekends.   I do not think change is always a good thing if it washes away our traditions.

CHANGING SEASONS

It is that time of the year when all around us are signs of the season changing.  The leaves are starting to change colors.  The birds are getting ready for that long trip south.  The squirrels are padding their nests with grass for the cold winter that will be coming. The nights are getting cooler. Fall is definitely on its way.  This picture of the squirrel with a mouth full of grass for his nest was actually taken 2 years ago.  I used to call him the 10:00 squirrel because you could set your clock by him.  Ten am every morning he would be hunting food on our front street.  Many of the neighbors would leave nuts out for him and his family. At one point we had about 5 squirrels in the neighborhood, unfortunately most of them including the 10:00 squirrel were killed by a hawk.  We were all sad to know they were killed, but I guess the hawk has to eat too.   I just wonder if we had not feed them if just maybe they would have been more alert to the hawks over head.

I was taking some photos of the rose bush across the street from my house and I saw something really cute.   The picture is a little large, but this is what I saw a bumble bee trying to get every last drop of the pollen from the last remaining flowers of summer.  I wish you could all have seen her jumping from bud to bud what made it cute was when she rolled over and rubbed her back inside one flower.  It reminded me of how a playful puppy will sometimes roll over on its back, and shake around.  I have never before thought of bees as cute, especially after a swarm of this same bread of bee attacked me when I was 5 years old. My older brother had stirred them up by accident, and I ran right into the middle of the swarm.  I did not know they were there till it was too late.  As bees go bumble bees are some of the more gentle bees.   You leave them alone and they will never bother you.  They just go on about their business like this little girl was doing. She did not care I was taking her picture, or that I was amused by how cute her style was. All she cared about was gathering as much pollen as possible while the flowers are still blooming.

PEOBABLY NOT THE SMARTEST THING

I was talking to someone today about my previous blog and how we felt about it, and another thought came to me.  Posting this thought will probably not be the smartest thing I ever did, and I am sure there will be those that will have a fit about it, and that is ok, but while they are having their fit they will also have to think about how true the statement is and finally admit to themselves I may be right.
Slavery was a terrible thing for EVERYONE involved. It was traumatic for those ripped away from their homes and forced to cross an ocean in bad conditions only to be forced to work all day with nothing they could call their own to show for all the work.  It was bad for those that kept slaves, because they brought shame on their families for generations to come.
There is however one thing that everyone seems to be overlooking with all the using my ancestors were slaves and so I am entitled to act  act out and blame my bad behavior on history crap that is going on now a days.  Besides the fact that NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WAS EVEN ALIVE THEN therefore they themselves did not endorse what their ancestors did, so they should stop playing the role of wronged party.     Now here comes the bomb shell that no one ever wants to see:  If your ancestors had not endured great suffering over a century ago YOU YOURSELF MAY NOT BE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN TODAY!!!!   You are a citizen of one  of the greatest countries on this planet, because your ancestors were brought here from their home land LONG BEFORE you were even a thought in anyone's mind.   They worked hard and suffered much, and because of it you are a citizen of this country.   If they had been left where they were it is VERY LIKELY you would have been born in the mother land.  IF YOU WERE EVEN BORN AT ALL, many us citizens today are of multiracial blood lines.   The way the blood lines became mixed is not as important to today's people as is the fact IF IT NEVER HAPPENED YOU WOULD NOT BE WHO YOU ARE IF YOU EVEN EXISTED.  So next time you decide to do something to try to separate this country or to play the role of victim for something that never happened to you ask yourself would the world have been a better place if you had never been born because your ancestors were left in Africa or DO YOU MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE , BECAUSE YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE???
It will be interesting to see the comments on this blog.   It will be easy to see who really got what I was going for here, OH AND BY THE WAY, I myself am of mixed blood line.   I am part German, part native American, and part African American.   I know for a fact if some of my ancestors had never been on American soil, even if there was a Jane  I would not be who I am today.
If I was never born, because my ancestors had never met, I know at least one little girl that would have died at age 3. She was about to get hit by a car and I jumped onto the road and pulled her off just as the car sped past us I felt the air off it.   Had my ancestors never got together and formed what is today me there would have been no one there to save her.    Or if there had been a Jane maybe with her new dna make up she would not have had the courage to act first and think about what could have happened after the little girl was safe.   You all know there are people in this world who think only of themselves.  If the black blood had not been in me maybe I would have been one of those people.   You do not really know how a change in your dna will change your personality.  ( But I digress.)

ON THE SOAP BOX AGAIN LOL

I was surfing around on the net, and I found a story about the singing group Confederate Railroad being removed from a show at a fair in Illinois.   Apparently the people in charge of the show thought the name CONFEDERATE RAILROAD was somehow offensive to someone.    I think people need to grow a skin.  This ban has been around for decades and has even played that fair before, so why now is it a problem and suddenly too offensive to play there just because of their name.    I also think people need to learn a little history maybe they would not be so judgmental.

On a only slightly related note:  Last summer a 3 on one beat down took place in front of my house.    I had to call the police about it.  Apparently the victim had a confederate flag bumper sticker on his car, and a group of young African Americans took offence at it, and decided to pull it off his bumper. (First I want to note if a Caucasian guy had pulled anything off an African American’s property, it would have been all over the news.)  So the Caucasian boy got angry, as anyone would have if someone destroyed something they owned.   He made a reallllllllly bad move on any level and tried to run them over.  At this point first one of the young men started punching him in the face through his window, and then another one ran around the car and pulled the door open on the passenger side and started beating him from the other side. At this point a third African American guy jumped into the car and started pounding the Caucasian guy that was trapped in his car.    Now if 3 Caucasian guys had pinned an African American guy in a car and did a 3 on one gang beat down, they would have been in jail and the news would have read: Three white men savagely beat up an African American man that was trapped in his car.    NOW MY POINT OF ALL THIS:  The guy with the car made a stupid move trying to run over the other guys, BUT if the other guys had realized this is America and people can have pictures on their bumpers if they want to.   All they had to do was look in another direction and the problem would have been solved with no one getting hurt.   I realllllllllly think some people try to use racism as an excuse for behaving badly.

I actually heard someone say one time that blacks cannot be raciest only whites can and to that I say, anyone who really believes that is really stupid.   Anyone can be racist, but the truly smart people will choose not to be racist.   If you look back through our history you will find many great inventions created from every nationality and color of people on the planet.

So after I heard that stupidity about Confederate Railroad being removed from the show because of their name, I felt the urge to write a poem.   It may not be good but it is from the heart.

Always remember this is the land of the free, and you do not get to make my choices for me

Migrants from the other lands helped this country grow so why now do some want them to go.

Everyone is free to speak their minds; it does not mean we need to draw battle lines

Racism is not something only one color can do, anyone can be racist it is true

Intolerance of another person’s way of life is only good for causing strife

Criticism of someone because of their race is a disgrace

America is the great melting pot, built by many races up from the ground, so you have no rights to put anyone down

OK SO MY POETEY IS WEAK , BUT THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF EVERYONE WOULD JUST TURN THE OTHER CHEEK.
