BEST LAID PLANS
A famous quote says< " The best laid plans of mice and men will often go awry." I have been having that happen to me a lot lately and it is really starting to depress me. Lets start with some Christmas presents I ordered that arrived a day later then expected and damaged. It seemed like a good idea at the time when I ordered them. I planned for them to arrive very early for Christmas and undamaged. My plan went awry. Earlier this week I planed to run a tournament for 2 people that share a birthday. I had planned for a representative from the owners to be there for the tourney, but due to circumstances beyond their control they could not make it. Then tonight I planned to run another birthday tourney for one of the head admins. After trying to get the best time to run it from them it was decided it could be put on the calendar for 10 pm. Nearly an hour later the birthday girl still had not arrived and I had a lot of trouble getting ahold of anyone from her family to see if she was indeed going to make it.( I had been told I would be notified if something came up to mandate pushing it back. Apparently something had came up , but an hour late the birthday made her appearance. It would have been nice if she had won but she was out in round 1, and promptly disappeared again. It would seem when I plan birthday tourneys they do not work out well so maybe I should stop trying to run them. No matter how much planning I put into them or how much time I spend making a nice page for them, or how much I put on it as a donation it does not seem to work out the way I plan them. I planned to sleep in nearly every day this week and did not get to do it not one time. I am starting to think my big problem is I make plans of any kind. Maybe it would be best for me to not plan anything for anyone.
